Should a membrane be placed with tileable insulation screed?
It is best to install tileable insulation screed without a membrane so it sticks to the substrate.
You can improve the adhesion of the tileable insulation screed by moistening the concrete surface with water the night before.
If there is a risk of rising damp, it is best to place a membrane. To be on the safe side, you can place a screed reinforcement net (in combination with the Staenis grid) on the membrane to avoid curving the insulation screed.
