Insulation screed in Bathroom: Need primer and leveling?

A customer asked whether cement-based leveling compound and primer are necessary for a bathroom, as insulation screed would be directly tileable. Staenis replied that a leveling layer of leveling compound or tile adhesive improves the quality of tiling, but that tiling after applying and drying a primer is also possible. For damp areas such as a bathroom, the entire floor can be made waterproof, but often only the walk-in shower is made waterproof.
