Technical specifications and cladding

Scope of application: Dwellings (without garage), corridors and attic floors in residential buildings, hotel rooms and bathrooms in hotels.

Permissible point load: 1.0kN; Permissible service load: 2.0 kN/m² --- Installation of CircoFloor with 14 adjustment screws per m²

The Circofloor system can handle much higher loads, but this approval is currently only available on request.

The CircoFloor system is currently made from polypropylene. In a later pro version with fiber-reinforced polypropylene, 7 adjustment screws per m² will suffice for the required stability.

Cladding ceramic tiles and natural stone – Fermacell – With stable concrete slab as substrate

2e11 or 2e22 + load-distributing layer: maximum dimension 1200 mm ≥ 9 mm
Therm25 with top plate: maximum size 800 mm ≥ 6 mm
Therm25 with top plate + load-distributing layer: maximum dimension 1200 mm ≥ 6 mm
Natural stone Thickness
2e11 or 2e22: maximum dimension 600 mm ≥ 15 mm
2e11 or 2e22 + load-distributing layer: maximum dimension 800 mm ≥ 15 mm
2e11 or 2e22 + load-distributing layer: maximum dimension 1200 mm ≥ 20 mm

2 x Brio 18: maximum dimension 1200 mm ≥ 9 mm
Natural stone Thickness
Brio 18 or 23: maximum dimension 330 mm ≥ 8 mm
Brio 23: maximum dimension 600 mm ≥ 10 mm en ≥ 20 mm
Brio 18 or 23 + Vidiwall board: maximum dimension 600 mm ≥ 10 mm en ≥ 20 mm
2 x Brio 18: maximum dimension 1200 mm ≥ 20 mm

Boarding for other floor coverings - With stable concrete slab or wooden joisting as a substrate

Knauf Brio and Fermacell
Point load 9x9cm without floor covering: Bends 0.5 mm with 100 kg and 1 mm with 200 kg.
  • Brio 18 (or stronger) or 2e11 (or stronger) for: Laminate, Multilayer parquet, Carpet, Click vinyl/PVC, DryTile, leveling layer + thin, elastic floor covering (vinyl, linoleum, cork, etc.) --- (These floor elements provide a stiffer subfloor than OSB sheathing, thanks to their higher rigidity in both the length and width directions. Moreover, they perform better in terms of acoustics.)
OSB and Durelis
Point load 9x9cm without floor covering: Bends 1 mm with 100 kg and 1.5 mm with 200 kg.
  • OSB 12 mm for: Laminate, floating multi-layer parquet, Clickvinyl/PVC --- (OSB 12 provides 0.5 mm extra deflection compared to OSB 18 or thicker)
  • OSB 18 mm or OSB 22 mm for: Laminate, floating or glued* multi-layer parquet, Clickvinyl/PVC, DryTile --- (We prefer 18 mm OSB3 or OSB4. A thicker plating does not increase the compressive resistance, as shown in our tests with Agepan OSB 3 Ecoboard. Weaker OSB panels, on the other hand, can benefit from a thicker version: for less rigid panels, a 22 mm OSB can offer a higher compressive resistance than an 18 mm version.)
  • Durelis 12 + 12 mm (staggered) for: Laminate, floating or glued* multi-layer parquet, Clickvinyl/PVC, DryTile, Tec7 filler + thin, elastic floor covering (vinyl, linoleum, cork, etc.) --- (A double layer of OSB or Durelis prevents the seams from moving relative to each other, which prevents markings in the floor covering.)
  • * multi-layer parquet can be glued to OSB 3/4 plating, provided that the CircoFloor system is anchored to the substrate with at least 4 frame screws per m² and the OSB 3/4 plating is attached to the CircoFloor system structures with at least 13 screws per m².

Without cladding
