This light floor structure forms an ideal insulated surface for your parquet, laminate, cork, carpet, etc. After a few days of curing, you can cover the insulating screed with a wooden OSB or Durelis sheet and screw it on to the Staenis grid, which in this instance serves as a wooden grid.

Floor construction manual

1. Place the Staenis grid and adjust it to the correct height with a screwdriver. If necessary, use Staenis extension legs or sawn wooden blocks under the Staenis legs to adjust higher. 2. Mix the ready-to-use insulating screed from bags with water (see webshop for amount of water) and pour it into the grid. Flatten these with a screed iron on top of the Staenis grid. 3. Place an OSB plate with a minimum thickness of 18-22 mm on the Staenis grid and screw it to the slats. Alternatively, you can use a 12mm board, but you will need to apply enough construction silicone under the OSB board to prevent it from bending when you walk over it. 4. Tip: Depending on the type of floor finish, you choose the thickness of the OSB. A thin floor finish needs a thicker OSB, a thick floor finish can be combined with the minimum OSB thickness for this floor construction. 5. Tip: Remove dust, dirt, grease, loose particles and other contaminants from the wooden surface. This helps to achieve a better bond between the insulation screed and the wooden surface. 6. Tip: For extra adhesion, you can screw a wood screw into each cage of the Staenis grid and allow it to protrude 2 to 3 cm. This will cause the insulation screed to mechanically adhere to the wooden substrate. 7. To prevent moisture infiltration from the insulation screed, we recommend filling any cracks in the wooden substrate with PU foam before installation. 8. Tip: Glue all legs to the surface with PU foam, so that the height adjustment remains correct after adjustment. 9. Allowed floor coverings: floating floor coverings such as multi-layer parquet, laminate, cork, carpet and vinyl. Always follow the installation instructions of both the floor covering manufacturer and the store where the purchase was made.

The insulation screed is ready-made with new EPS pearls, mixed with cement, water and specific patented additives.

The EPS pearls have a special small diameter of 2mm-6mm, in order to obtain an even flatter result with the Staenis grid.

The insulating screed in bags is easy to transport and makes it possible to insulate your floor yourself.

This non-tilable insulation screed can be used as an insulating infill in the Staenis grid, single or double clad with at least 18 mm OSB. But also as an insulating filling layer, with a screed above it.
