Staenis grating Floor structure: Tips for Insulation and Stability

The customer asked whether the Staenis grid, filled with aerated concrete granules, can be used directly on hard insulation boards for his floor structure. The employee replied that this is not possible because the schedule would collapse. He suggested filling the grid with aerated concrete granules, placing insulation boards on top, and then loosely laying 12 mm OSB and screwing 18 mm OSB into place.

  1. Fill the grid with aerated concrete granules and reinforce where necessary.
  2. Place the insulation boards on top.
  3. Place 12 mm OSB loosely on the insulation boards.
  4. Screw the 18 mm OSB into the 12 mm OSB.

For the bathroom he referred to a specific floor structure for the bathroom. More information about this can be found on the specific floor structure for the bathroom.
